Cop Lecture 1

Module- Individual project- focus on personal interests, Supervisors are facilitators

Independently led - Wrapped around my project, based on area of focus *Sustainability, print, colour, interactivity*

Professional level of presentation- Practical and theoretical work: not just what but also why 'why do you want to do this?'

Emphasis on organisation and time management- research and critical evaluation

OUTCOMES:
5x Presentation boards of practical work
5000 word essay, excluding quotes
Max 2000 words on blog

Project led outcome- let practice develop the outcome
knowledge is between facts and opinions- how do they work together?

- Ontology and epistemology - be proactive

**Consider methodology- what am I expecting to find? How will I do it? What resources will I use?**

**Try different methodology techniques - interviews, case studies, workshops, conferences, museums, observation**

-Blog, organisation of processes, research and documentation of development
-What is research doing? Confirming ideas or contradicting them? Analyse sources- what does this mean?
- Be selective, don't gather irrelevant, broad research
- Use methodology to gather data through interpretation and analysis

-Triangulation and analysis of texts

-End of research

Tutorial 4
- Draft and end of discussion about what to write

-Start with bullet points in intro and develop after written essay
**Check slideshow for relevent ILO's and where they appear**
-Focus on visual analysis- How does it relate to other chapters?
-No new information in conclusion
-Images at end referenced- Think about how many- do they work together- how are they relevent?
- Focus on purpose- expand and develop
