Visual work feedback

After a group discussion I was able to make my idea and direction more purposeful.

What we discussed:
- What aspects of my essay interest me?
-Saw a video about a blind man guessing colour through smell alone, I think it's really interesting to think what his entire concept of colour is.
- What impact does the colour of packaging have, could I try my own experiments?
- Looking at the ratios of colour (could link back to brand colour work) maybe visualising through barcodes

What the group suggested:
- Neil harbisson gave a talk at LCA about synesthesia- How could I visualise hearing colour?
- Try origami to construct the packaging, thinking about colour and form
- Draw more!!

What I will do in response:
- Draw packaging and see what colours are used
- Go on a visit to a supermarket and take photos- what colours are the aisles mainly dominated by?
- Expand on image making- different media
- Focus more, pick a few select avenues to explore and do so exhaustively
- Look at repeated image with only changing the colour

Essay feedback and plan

After audio feedback and then a peer review, I now have a clearer idea to what direction my project is going in.

The main issues with my essay were:
- Some theorists missing
- Title needs reworking
- Structure at some parts needs revising
- Images should be discussed during the body of the text
- References for end section need to be included
- Conclusion needs more information

What I will do next:
- Re-structure grammatical errors
- Put images into the main text and remove parts about other examples of colour theory- discuss this through cereal boxes
- Kelloggs box hasn't changed over time- talk about how iconic it is
- Morrisons has wheat on the packet for cornflakes!!!
- Saver colour is so stark- discuss this more
- Explore marketing strategies more- thinking about audience and status objects
- Look at classes and morality within consumerism
